5 Stars My son’s new favorite game
We gave this game to our 9-year-old son for his new Wii. It has quickly become his favorite game. He started out with the 5 on 5 play setting which helped him learn the skills without being overwhelmed by an entire field full of players. After he mastered this, I convinced him to try the regular game. We love to play it together now, and it was a good transition from the 5 on 5. This is what I would recommend for younger players. If your child is a football fan, they will enjoy choosing favorite teams and seeing famous players’ names on the jerseys too!

5 Stars Very nice game!
It is really fun to play the game and it has very nice graphics. Controls are not that hard to play. You can “Call your shots” on passing plays.Running controls are also very easy. The 5on5 mode is great for practicing. At the 5on5 mode you have to go for 4th down. You can also trade players, view rosters, release players and sign players. Play a party with up to 4 players. There are a lot of games to choose from in the party mode. You can also learn how to play football like practice throwing, receiving, running and a lot more. You can play a practice game. There is one mode called situation mode, where you can choose what the score is,which quarter you are in and a lot more.Great game for all football fans!

5 Stars a wife speaks out
I hate this game! As soon as my husband begins playing it, I must leave the room. He becomes so engrossed & intense in the game I take the dogs upstairs & read.

An hour to 2 hours later, he comes to bed refreshed, smiling, relaxed & wanting to tell me all about the game he just played. (He has yet to lose to another team.) Just what I want to hear all about @ the end of the day, right. My suggestion, don’t let your husband purchase this game. You won’t be able to deal w/ a relaxed, refreshed husband.

5 Stars My kids love this game
I purchased Madden 09 for my 3 boys for Christmas and they can’t stop playing it. The controls are real easy for them and they can play on the same team or against each other. I highly recommend it.

2 Stars Underwhelms
Madden ‘09 for Wii described in two words: cheap product.

I own Madden 2007-2009 for the Wii system, and both the 2008 and 2009 versions are collecting dust in my cabinet. 2009 doesn’t seem to add anything at all to the 2008 version except for gimmick concepts affectionately titled “All-play”. Combine this with the fact that the 2008 is basically a stripped down version of 2007 with poor controls and worse graphics… Seems like Madden has become a franchise that is cashing in on the loyal fanbase rather than focusing on putting up a new innovative title each year.

The game has gone downhill in each successive version for the Wii. The graphics incredible have gotten worse over time. With a component cable, in the 2007 version at least I can pretend I am getting a graphical experience similar to Xbox or PS3, but in the 2008/09 versions there is no attempt at even making this game look realistic anymore. Seriously, the PS2 looks better than these versions.

In 2008-09, the controls are mapped poorly and they are less intuitive. The one main difference in the Wii version of Madden is the Wiimote and nunchuck action and the newer versions downgrade this experience significantly.

To sum it up, the franchise and the product overall have gone dowhill in recent years. And the polished has a less finished and polished look overall when you compare it to other systems or even a previous version no the same system. For me, this is an unacceptable change and I will no longer religiously buy the newest and “best” Madden when it comes out in the future for the Wii.

If gimmicks such as “all-play” are your thing, rate this 5 stars and move on. You can easily get your moneys worth while you shake your controller to power up during endzone dances, right?
